Subject: Ships Crest

Dear sir:

I have been meaning to write this letter forever, and never got around to it. It concerns the beginnings of the Ships Crest.

The Ships Crest Art and Design were made aboard the U. S. S. Saratoga's Print shop in December of 1963. The Art and Design were done by Richard G. Collins (5868217), and Clark Bolton. Richard's part in the design was the Crown and Centerpiece, and Clark Bolton did the cox on the top.

Other members of the Print Shop were Artie Nelson, Ron Swagler, George Looney, Charlie Lucia, and Ottis Denmark.

My husband Richard G. Collins served aboard the Sara from 1962 to 1964, and has terminal Lung Cancer. I did want him to get credit due for the Crest that the whole Print Shop took part in, and I promised that I would write to you, before his death.

Thank you,
Annette Collins
