Officials at the Naval Inventory Control Point in Philadelphia (NAVICP) have confirmed the loan of an RF-4B Phantom (Bureau Number 148371) to the USS Saratoga Museum. The reconnaissance version of this Cold Warrior has served as a static display at the Naval Surface Warfare Center facility in Carderock, MD for the past several years. It was the 8th F-4B built.

We need volunteers to help with the disassembly and rigging for truck transport to Rhode Island. The work will start on Monday, August 28 and is expected to last all week. Previous F-4 and/or aircraft mechanic experience is helpful but not essential. If you are interested in working on this job (even if for one or two days) please e-mail us at
