RUSSIAN SUB

Lights! Camera! Juliett!

National Geographic Films Documentary
Footage Aboard Juliett 484
Even before her opening to the public, Juliett 484 is a star attraction. National Geographic Television was aboard our Russian cruise missile submarine for two days in May, shooting dramatic re-creations of the crisis aboard the Russian ballistic missile sub, K-19. Eight actors from New York, Boston and the Providence area were cast as K-19 officers and seamen. The K-19 scenes will be part of a documentary titled Lost Subs that will air on MSNBC July 14 at 8 p.m. (EDT). Of course, Juliett is already star of K-19: The Widowmaker, the $80 million Paramount Pictures story of the ill-fated Russian submarine. The big-screen blockbuster, starring Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson, has its national premiere on July 19.
