FINANCIAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Hon. Robert Weygand, Chairman

Richard P. Honack is Assistant Dean for the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He also is academic director of Kellogg's Executive Education for Non-Profit Organizations program, where he co-teaches Marketing & Fund Raising for Non-Profits. Prior to joining Kellogg in 1995, Honack had more than 20 years of award winning experience in the media business. He served as Director of Promotion and Public Relations for the Chicago Tribune. A former U.S. Army Captain, he was also a civilian advisory board member to the Chief of Public Affairs, USAR.

Robert L. Crandall was the leader of American Airlines from 1980, when he was named president and later chairman, until he retired in 1998. Raised in Rhode Island, he graduated from URI and the Wharton Business School. In April 1997, Crandall received the Horatio Alger Award, which honors individuals who have achieved success despite challenging life circumstances. Many national and trade publications have honored Mr. Crandall for his achievements and executive leadership; the Wall Street Journal called Robert Crandall "the man who changed the way the world flies."

Elizabeth Dolan is the former President of the Town Council of North Kingstown, our host community. She is also a member of Rhode Island State Labor Relations Board, who worked for the INS as a trial attorney from 1987-1989. Previously she clerked at the U.S. Department of Labor for an administrative law judge. Liz is a former member of the North Kingstown Planning Commission, Building Code Board of Appeals, and School Department Growth Management Committee.

John Evans, Xplore Productions, Old Lyme CT; former Disney designer and show producer who now manages a team responsible for strategic planning, concept development, project management, exhibit design and production, on-site exhibit services support and media production for Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration, Pfizer and other customers in the entertainment, education and corporate fields. He is also Bob Ballard's liaison with the Saratoga project.

Bob Galkin/Warren Galkin: the Galkin brothers (both Navy veterans) own NATCO Products Corporation, a West Warwick-based manufacturer of household fabrics and floor coverings with factories in several states as well as China. Through the Galkin Foundation they have provided significant financial support to the Saratoga effort.

Gail Ginnetty is Senior Vice President of the Personal Trust and Not-for Profit-Groups at Citizens Investment Management Services Group. She previously spent 24 years at Fleet Boston Financial Group where she held a number of positions in the Investment, Commercial and Retail Divisions. She serves as Treasurer of Save the Bay, Vice President of the Rhode Island Planned Giving Council and previously was President of the Board of the Lincoln School.

Tom Harper is a Saratoga veteran who worked for Electric Boat in Groton after leaving the Navy. He eventually started his own company, Johnston-based Yankee Supply which buys and sells used industrial equipment, specializing in material handling equipment.

John Martin, a former Providence Journal reporter and on-air radio announcer is now Communications Director at Save the Bay. He previously held the same position at the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation.

Colonel Sherwood "Woody" Spring USA (Ret) served his country as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, a test pilot and as one of our nation's astronauts. Spring graduated from West Point in 1967, received an MS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Arizona in 1974 and graduated from the U.S. Navy Test Pilot School in 1976. He was selected as an astronaut in May 1980, and served as a mission specialist on STS-61B in late 1985. He has logged a total of 165 hours in space. He retired from the Army in 1994, and is now Associate Director of ALPHATECH, a developer of technology-intensive applications software for government and industry.

Dr. Edward Mazze is Dean of the College of Business Administration at the University of Rhode Island. He previously served as Dean of the Belk College of Business Administration at the University of North Carolina. He was also Chairman and CEO of William Penn Bank.
