On September 2nd, 2006, the Saratoga Museum Foundation hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Picnic and Baseball Game, held at the home of the Pawtucket Red Sox, McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, RI. Even with some last minute scrambling by the Pawsox organization in an effort to beat the expected rains from the remnants of hurricane Ernesto, all the volunteers were treated to a swell barbeque picnic before the main event. That would be the last game of the season to be played at McCoy Stadium, with the Pawsox hosting the Ottowa Lynx. The rain stayed away and the game ended with Pawtucket blanking the visiting Lynx 5-0, capping a nearly perfect day for all.
