Francis L. Lennon, President and Treasurer
Mr. Lennon is a native of Providence, a West Point graduate, and a former Green Beret Vietnam combat veteran. His corporate experience is in the airline and travel industries. After 20 years of running his own marketing business he opted for a career change, taking on the challenge of relocating the National Warplane Museum in New York. He returned to Rhode Island in late 1997 and shortly thereafter launched this museum effort.
Bradley A. Senter, Vice President
Mr. Senter of Texas City, Texas is President of the USS Saratoga Association, representing the the 65,000 sailors, marines and air crew who served aboard USS Saratoga (CV-60) between 1956 and 1994, and for all those who served previously on the World War II carrier CV-3. He recently retired from Union Carbide/Dow Chemical.
William E. Sheridan, Secretary
Mr. Sheridan, a North Providence native, retired as Assistant Chief of the Statewide Planning Office in the RI Department of Administration to work full time with the Foundation. He is a practicing attorney who also has extensive experience consulting on municipal planning issues. He is also a private pilot and a Founder of the Quonset Air Museum.
Jo Ann Engelhardt, Director
Ms. Engelhardt is Managing Director of the Bessemer Trust operation in Palm Beach, Florida. Previously she served as President and CEO of Merrill Lynch Trust Company’s Florida operation. A Brooklyn native, she holds a JD and an LLM from NYU. Her banking experience (which also includes US Trust and Citicorp Trust) combined with her legal background make her the ideal person to establish and development the Foundation’s endowment program.
RADM Donald E. Weiss, Director
A former commanding officer of USS Saratoga (CV-60), Admiral Weiss graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and was designated a Naval Aviator in February 1970. Before his retirement he also commanded the USS Carl Vinson Battle Group (Carrier Group Three) and also all U.S. Naval Forces in Japan. He is now a senior executive with Lockheed-Martin based in Washington, DC.
CORPORATE COUNSEL
Joseph B. White, Nixon Peabody LLP
Mr. White, a North Kingstown resident, is a partner in the firm's Providence office. He is a member of the firm's Business Practice Group focusing on corporate transactional work and emerging businesses. He is also the co-leader of the firm's Medical Device Team. His transactional experience includes acquisitions, sales, mergers, recapitalizations, and private placement offerings. Mr. White also has significant experience with not-for-profit law and federal, state, and local taxation. His clients include property and casualty companies, financial institutions, manufacturing companies, high technology developers and municipalities. He received a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and a B.S. in business administration, cum laude from Providence College. He currently presides as North Kingstown's municipal probate judge, and is the legal representative to the Town's Asset Management Commission. He is also a member of the North Kingstown Juvenile Hearing Board.
Douglas C. Doskocil, Goodwin Procter LLP
Mr. Doskocil is a partner in the Litigation Department of the firm's Boston office. Given his engineering background, his practice concentrates on intellectual property litigation, with particular emphasis on patents relating to electrical systems, computers, communication networks and software. Mr. Doskocil has had numerous technical papers published by IEEE and DoD on systems engineering methodology and weapon system design, diagnostics and maintenance. Prior to joining Goodwin Procter he spent 11 years at Martin Marietta Automated Systems Department. His responsibilities included developing and managing an entire multimillion-dollar departmental R&D program, as well as planning associated new business development activities. This experience has been applied to ground, air and space systems for the Department of Defense, NASA and the Department of Transportation. His degrees include an M.S.E.L. from Vermont Law School; J.D., Suffolk University Law School: M.S., Tufts University; and a B.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
